Elizardo Sanchez, Martha Beatriz Roque and Vladimiro Roca and a dozen other dissidents met last month with Bisa Williams, the chief of the State Department's Office of Cuban Affairs.
They had lunch on Sept. 21 at the U.S. Interests Section in Havana, the dissidents told the Associated Press.

Roque said Williams asked whether the Cuban people support the political opposition. She said:
I explained to her that such support was difficult because those who are part of the opposition are sent to jail.
