This statue struck me as a bit creepy, given all the
pedophile priests out there. I wonder if pedophile priests were around at the end of the 16th century when the church was built.

I thought the very same thing when visiting Havana in December last year. A very creepy statue.
yeah, it's odd, especially knowing what we know now about priests' sexual abuse of boys. but maybe in a different context a few hundred years ago, the sculpture wouldn't cause anyone to look twice.
