Cuban hunger strike ends

Martha Beatriz Roque and more than two dozen other Cuban dissidents ended their hunger strike Tuesday after Cuban authorities released a little-known opposition figure named Jorge Vázquez Chaviano.
Some supporters of the socialist government had called the hunger strike an attention-getting stunt. Dissidents denied that and had expressed concern that one or more of the strikers could have died during the protest.
