Russian HQ in Cuba

Russian embassy, Havana

Every time I passed by that "building" I smiled. Could there be an uglier embassy anywhere? If this building doesn't express the underlying contempt that Russians have for the Cuban people, what does? It is also a symbol of the lack of input that Cubans really had in their relationship with the Russian during those years where Cuban survival depended upon the millions of rubles they received from their Russian wetnurse. You only need to look at what Cuban built for itself with their own money (that means prior to the revolution) and compare it to this "architecture". What a disaster!

It is the one of the strangest buildings in Havana. You see such beauty and elegance in Miramar, then suddenly there's the Russian embassy - a big, ugly concrete beast.
