Showering in style

State Department spending outside the U.S. so far in fiscal 2015
A $3,640 shower, $6,270 in LED bulbs and a $248 calendar are among the State Department's most recent purchases in Cuba, records show.
Officials reported spending $309,607 so far in fiscal 2015, which began Oct. 1, 2014. Much of the money paid for fuel.
That was a tiny fraction of the $1,298,884,493 in contracts that the State Department signed. Spending was highest in the following countries:

  • Afghanistan: $198 million
  • Iraq: $128 million
  • Brazil: $36 million

Saludos.
