A friend in Havana passed along these photos from a fashion shoot in Cuba.
Cuba is an affordable location for fashion photography, the director of a Havana fashion show told me. Some Cuban models charge $200 to $300 per day, he said, but others work for much less.
These photos were taken for a company that sells handbags, wallets and other fashion accessories, available on a Web site called Bobby Amore Cuba.
U.S. regulations prohibit American photographers from going to Cuba for fashion shoots. The longtime ban on trade with Cuba doesn't allow that kind of activity. But photographers from Europe, Asia and elsewhere in Latin America often travel to the island to take pictures for ad campaigns, calendars and other products.
