Raul Castro presses the flesh

Raul Castro

Here are more images of Raul Castro. These were taken during the president's July 26, 2009, speech in Holguin, Cuba.

Raul Castro's chief of personal security, Raul Alejandro Rodríguez Castro, stayed close to the Cuban president during the event.
After his speech, Castro briefly chatted and shook hands with some of those who were in the crowd.

Castro exchanged a few words and a hug with Melba Hernandez, one of two women who took part in the assault on the Moncada barracks on July 26, 1953.

Among those attending the speech was Lucius Walker, shown above wearing the red t-shirt. He is founder of Pastors for Peace, a non-profit organization that for years has openly defied the U.S. ban on trade with Cuba.
Castro thanked Pastors for Peace for its support and left the event with Walker at his side.
